Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling professional career in Italy. Her acting career started in the year 1996, when she appeared in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get an appearance on Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. In the beginning, it was hard for Amy switching from modeling to acting. The reason is that most models don't have the ability to act. In the majority of cases, they're assigned small and insignificant roles. But somehow Amy was determined to keep going and stepped into larger roles, beginning with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. After a while, Amy took the leap to more prominent roles. She starred in the 2005 love story Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for the role she had been chasing for over a decade. The actress continued to appear in major films, such as Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was a beloved recurring role.
